Between worlds

The Obstacle

We can be unsure
Confused
Tentative
Reluctant
Unable to make a decision
One way or the other.

Something simple
Changing lanes
What to do
What to wear
Where to eat.

Something serious
Health condition
Conflict with a loved on
Parenting
Career
Purpose.

We find ourselves struggling to move forward
Half in
Half out
Questioning
Backtracking
Putting in partial effort.

Attention divided
Focus broken
Performance lacking
Going through the motions
Without confidence
Unsure if we’re doing the right thing.

We waste time and energy
Being unsure.

We’re unable to lead ourselves
Or others.

Because we’re caught between worlds.

The Gift and Opportunity

There is always more than one path
Different ways of doing things
Different things we could be doing
Choices to be made.

Choose.

Go all in
Make the decision
Go with it.

Be confident
Focus attention
Have intention in what we’re doing.

Be present
With effort
Focus
And attention onto the task.

Solving the problem
Deal with conflict
Do the thing that needs doing.

Focused energy
In a single direction.

Nothing wasted.

Lead ourselves
Be the one others look to as an example.

Things get done faster
Better
More efficiently
Without complaint
Or regret.

Performance peaks
We are able to lead
Because we are not caught
Between two worlds.

The Practice of Self-Mastery

• Notice when you are split
• Decide
• Commit
• Do what needs done

CHEAT CODE: NOTICE → DECIDE → COMMIT → DO
