Stoic Saturday: Don’t Let It
This writing is Certified Human
“Remember, it is not enough to be hit or insulted to be harmed, you must believe that you are being harmed. If someone succeeds in provoking you, realize that your mind is complicit in the provocation. Which is why it is essential that we not respond impulsively to impressions; take a moment before reacting, and you will find it easier to maintain control.” ― Epictetus
Don’t Let:
An angry person make you angry.
An inconsiderate act make you inconsiderate.
A bad call on the field make you a poor sport.
A liar make you dishonest.
A careless driver make you reckless.
A rude person make you rude.
A selfish person make you greedy.
A disrespectful person make you disrespectful.
A chaotic situation make you loose focus.
A hard moment make you short.
Someone else’s lack of control take yours.
Someone else’s character determine yours.
A circumstance change who you are.
Slow down.
Take the moment.
Choose the response.
Protect who you are.
