It’s hard to refocus

Recalibrate
Reset.

We find ourselves
Tightly wound
Struggling
Straining
Stressing.

Only focusing
On what is needed next
The thing
Right in front of us.

The Gift And Opportunity

A lot is asked of us
From the time we wake up
To the time we fall asleep.

Our eyes open
We are off and running.

We lay down to sleep
Thinking about mistakes
Things undone
About tomorrow.

We can refocus
At any time
Shift our brain
From left to right
Recalibrate our stress
And attention.

The shift will not come
By accident
We must choose it.

One way is to listen
To hear
Isolated single sense.

Most of our sensory capacity is for sight
An easy way to reset is to shut off our vision.

Close our eyes
Listen.

Breath
Coming in and out.

Hands
Rubbing together.

Noises
Far away.

We can reset and recalibrate
Anytime
If we listen for it.
